About Me
Hi there! My name is Alexander Polyanskii. I am a mathematician working in discrete geometry. In my research, I enjoy combining tricks from extremal combinatorics, convex geometry, and linear algebra.
From 2010 to 2013, I did my Ph.D. in number theory under the supervision of Yury Valentinovich Nesterenko at Lomonosov Moscow State University. Towards the end of my grad studies, my research started to move toward discrete geometry
From 2013 to 2023, my life was closely connected with the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. The major project there was the Laboratory of Combinatorial and Geometric Structures. From 2015 to 2017, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Technion, hosted by Rom Pinchasi. During Fall 2018, I was a Visiting Researcher in the Chair of Combinatorial Geometry at EPFL, led by János Pach. During 2023, I worked at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
Since December 2023, I have been working in the Department of Mathematics at Emory University as an Assistant Professor.
